The model
Read full Volkswagen Taigo reviewIf you’re after something that’s stylish, comfortable and practical, the Volkswagen Taigo is a great option. Its driving experience isn’t as sharp or fun as the Ford Puma but that’s forgivable given the more compliant ride, generous rear passenger space and the fact that you get plenty of toys – even with our favourite entry-level version.
The trim

The engine
See full engine specsThe most powerful engine in the range has 148bhp and sprints to 62mph in 8.2sec, faster than even the Ford Puma Ecoboost mHEV 155. The extra power means it’s even more willing to give a sudden burst of speed, making it even easier to take advantage of gaps on the motorway. The DSG automatic gearbox, which comes as standard, is smooth and flicks through the gears quickly.
