The model
Read full New Mercedes-AMG GT reviewThe Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé isn’t as agile or engaging as the best sports cars, but it’s surprisingly practical and the V8 petrol engine – a rarity these days – sounds fantastic. It's available as a plug-in hybrid, but rather than leading to great company car tax savings, the PHEV offers the most blistering performance in the range.
The trim
See full equipmentUpgrading from Premium trim to Premium Plus gives you 21in wheels (instead of 20s), plus the front seats gain a massage function and are ventilated (not just heated). Carbon fibre interior trim is another addition, as is a head-up display that can project key info onto the windscreen. And the infotainment system is upgraded to feature augmented reality sat-nav.
The engine
See full engine specsThe GT 63 S E combines the 604bhp V8 from the AMG 63 Pro with a 202bhp electric motor, which cuts the 0-62mph sprint time to just 2.8sec. As a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), this version can also drive purely on electric power, although only for eight miles (officially).
