The Lexus RX scores well for its economical engines, well-built interior and attractive pricing. Reliability will be a strong point too, and the option of a regular hybrid is great for those without easy access to a charger. That said, while plug-in hybrid versions of the BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport cost more, they can travel further on a full charge, have smoother engines and ride more comfortably.
This is the plug-in hybrid option, and uses the same 2.5-litre petrol engine as the 350h but produces a more powerful combined output of 304bhp. The 0-62mph time is 6.5sec.
