The model
Read full Volkswagen ID 3 reviewThe Volkswagen ID 3 is decent to drive, comfortable and even nippy in Pro S guise. It’s quite expensive, though, so we'd suggest you also consider the MG4 EV and even the Tesla Model 3. If you do buy an ID 3, we'd recommend going for the Pro Match model. On the other hand, we'd definitely avoid the high performance GTX, because it has a very firm ride and isn't much fun.
The trim
See full equipmentThe Pro S Match comes with all the kit you could ever need, including a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, parking assist, matrix LED headlights and tinted windows. Unfortunately, it's quite pricey.
The engine
See full engine specsThe Pro and the Pro S both have a 201bhp electric motor that sends its power to the rear wheels, although the former model is faster due to its smaller, lighter battery. The downside of this is that you get a shorter range: 269 miles officially versus 344 miles.
