Find your perfect AYGO X

Cars available now

The Toyota Aygo X offers thrifty everyday motoring and is packed with safety tech. It's good to drive, too – although there are more practical alternatives. Stick with the standard manual gearbox unless you really don't want to change gear yourself, and we reckon mid-spec Edge trim makes the most sense.

Entry-level Pure trim is well-equipped, with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 9.0in touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view camera and air conditioning. Safety kit includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and traffic-sign recognition. We reckon Edge trim is worth the extra, though.

There's only one engine and it's a 71bhp 1.0-litre petrol. Free from any turbocharging or hybrid electrical assistance, acceleration is best described as 'pedestrian' (0-62mph takes at least 14.9 seconds), although you won't exactly struggle to keep up with other cars in urban and suburban environments.
