The Smart #3 is a very fine electric car – especially when you factor in the price. It's good to drive, has a respectable range between charges and is even pretty practical. We reckon the Premium version makes the most sense.

Pro+ trim adds faux-leather upholstery and wireless phone-charging to Pro trim's already extensive kit list. It's worth considering, but we reckon it's worth paying a bit more for Premium trim.

This entry-level option is no slouch, with an electric motor producing 268bhp driving the rear wheels. It can officially do 0-62mph in a brisk 5.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 112mph.
