On the one hand, the Skoda Kodiaq vRS is highly practical and therefore a great family choice, but on the other, it costs a lot for a sports SUV that’s not particularly exciting to drive. Its petrol engine isn’t that much quicker than the diesel it replaces, yet is a lot less efficient. If you need seven seats, buy the regular Kodiaq, and if you simply want something fun, look at the Cupra Ateca or the Ford Puma ST.
The cheapest and, in our view, best choice of trim comes with heated front seats, ambient interior lighting, keyless start, three-zone climate control, auto lights and wipers, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and power-folding door mirrors.
