Category: Executive car
Motorway comfort, efficient engines and bargain used prices make a strong case for a second-hand Peugeot 508
What should I look for in a used Peugeot 508 saloon?
The Peugeot 508 is a long car and thick windscreen pillars obstruct visibility. So check for scrapes and dents to the bumpers. Parking sensors were an option on Access and Active trims, but Allure-spec cars and above added rear sensors as standard.
Larger alloy wheels on GT models could be susceptible to kerbing. Have a look at all the wheels for any damage because alloy wheels can be expensive to fix.
What are the most common problems with a used Peugeot 508 saloon?
Early examples were reported to have problems with water leaking into the boot, while there were also issues with the electronics, parking brake and hill-start assist system. Make sure you check the spare wheel for any dampness, then try out every electrical gadget to make sure it works. If you are in any doubt about the parking brake, get your local Peugeot dealer to check it out.
