Renault's new entry-level models

Renault has bucked the trend of rising car prices by introducing new and cheaper entry-level versions of both the Megane Sports Tourer and Laguna Coupe.

The new Megane Sports Tourer Extreme costs 1000 less than the existing Expression model, with the 1.6 petrol version available for 14,495 and the 1.5 dCi 85 diesel version costing 16,685. Standard kit includes air-conditioning, stability control and an auxiliary input for the stereo.

Megane Sports Tourer - 3950 less than a Focus Estate
Following Ford's recent price increases, the petrol-powered Megane Sports Tourer Extreme undercuts the entry-level Ford Focus Estate 1.6 Style by a substantial 3950 - and the diesel version is 3010 cheaper than the Focus Estate 1.6 TDCI 90 Style.

The new Laguna Coupe dCi 150 TomTom costs 19,995 - 1650 less than the previous entry-level version.

As the new model's name suggests, it comes with a standard-fit TomTom sat-nav system, to go with Bluetooth, 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights and rear parking sensors.
