Lexus LF-NX crossover concept revealed
* Previews potential rival for Range Rover Evoque * Sharply creased bodywork and crossover stance * Officially unveiled at Frankfurt motor show...
This is the Lexus LF-NX crossover concept. The hybrid show car shows the company’s vision for a compact SUV to rival the likes of the Audi Q3 and Range Rover Evoque.
The car features heavily sculpted lines on almost every surface, including on what Lexus calls its ‘spindle grille’ at the front, which has already been seen on the new Lexus IS saloon.
At the front of the bonnet, ultra-thin LED headlights sit above the familiar arrow-shaped daytime running lights. Huge, vertical air intakes flank the concept’s nose.
In profile and rear-quarter views, the LF-NX is dominated by the flared wheelarches, which both rise towards the back of the car. The roofline also heightens towards the boot, where there’s a sloping tailgate and small lip spoiler.
The cabin has black leather upholstery and contrasting yellow door and dashboard trim. The central transmission tunnel is edged by a thick, brushed metal casing, and the switches, dials and screens are illuminated by blue backlighting.
The Lexus LF-NX will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show on 10 September.
