Audi

Audi Q8 e-tron front cornering

Audi has recently given its e-tron SUV an update with refreshed styling, a bigger battery and a new name. Now called the Q8 e-tron, it remains one of the most comfortable electric cars around, with a sumptuous interior and a pillowy-soft ride.

Model Q8 e-tron | Version 55 Quattro Sport | List price £77,800 | Target Price £76,066 | Target PCP £957 | Star rating 4

Read our full Audi Q8 e-tron review or see our latest Audi Q8 e-tron deals >>

BMW

BMW i7 front cornering

A fully electric version of the new 7 Series, the i7 now sits above the iX as BMW's flagship electric car. While its looks might not be for everyone, it is incredibly comfortable and filled to the brim with technology. The official range is good, too, at 387 miles.

Model i7 | Version xDrive60 M Sport | List price £118,470 | Target Price £114,355 | Target PCP £1615 | Star rating 5

Read our full BMW i7 review or see our latest BMW i7 deals >>

BYD

BYD Atto 3 front right tracking

Never heard of BYD? We wouldn't blame you, because BYD (those letters stand for 'Build Your Dreams') is a Chinese car manufacturer that has recently arrived in the UK. The first model to be launched here is the Atto 3 electric SUV, and from our experience so far, its a decent car that's smooth to drive, smart inside and very well equipped.

Model Atto 3 | Version Comfort | List price £37,695 | Target Price £37,695 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 4

Read our full BYD Atto 3 review or see our latest BYD Atto 3 deals >>

Citroën

Citroen e-C4 X front right tracking

The e-C4 X does things slightly differently; it's a version of the Citroën e-C4 electric SUV, with a saloon-style boot. What's also unusual is that the e-C4 X actually has a bigger boot than its sibling, whereas most regular saloons tend to have smaller boots than their estate or hatchback counterparts. As an overall package, though, the e-C4 X is comfortable and smart inside, but range and performance are so-so.

Model e-C4 X | Version Shine | List price £34,495 | Target Price £33,232 | Target PCP £450 | Star rating 3

Read our full Citroën e-C4 X review or see our latest Citroën e-C4 X deals >>

Cupra

Cupra Born front cornering

We think the Cupra Born is one of the best electric cars to drive, with its nippy acceleration, sharp handling and comfortable ride. While it currently holds the position of being Cupra's newest electric car, it's worth nothing that the Cupra Tavascan electric SUV will be arriving early next year.

Model Born | Version V1 | List price £36,475 | Target Price £36,475 | Target PCP £368 | Star rating 5

Read our full Cupra Born review or see our latest Cupra Born deals >>

DS

DS 3 E-Tense front cornering

DS has recently updated both its DS 3 and DS 7 SUVs, although in this instance, only the DS 3 is available as a fully electric car. As before, it remains a good offering that's refined and well equipped, but rivals are more practical and have better ranges.

Model DS 3 | Version Performance Line + | List price £39,200 | Target Price £38,047 | Target PCP £505 | Star rating 3

Read our full DS 3 review or see our latest DS 3 deals >>

Fiat

Fiat 500 Cabrio 2021

Fiat's newest electric car is the 500 Cabrio, and it’s a well-priced offering that's great to drive. Considering its small size, it also has a decent range between charges, plus we think it's more fun to drive than the Mini Convertible (thanks in part to its nippier acceleration). Naturally, it's not the most practical electric car, but there’s plenty of room for two up front.

Model 500 Cabrio | Version Red | List price £34,195 | Target Price £33,027 | Target PCP £368 | Star rating 5

Read our full Fiat 500 Cabrio review or see our latest Fiat 500 Cabrio deals >>

Ford

Ford Mustang Mach-E front cornering

Ford currently offers one electric car in the UK, and that's the Mustang Mach-E. As such, the newest version of it is the GT model, which offers 480bhp and an official range of 310 miles. While it's impressively quick (0-62mph takes just 3.7sec), it doesn't drive or handle as well as other electric SUVs, including the BMW iX3 and Jaguar I-Pace. It's also expensive and the interior doesn't live up to the price tag.

Model Mustang Mach-E | Version GT | List price £74,540 | Target Price £74,540 | Target PCP £740 | Star rating 3

Genesis

Genesis Electrified GV70 front

Genesis (Hyundai Group's premium brand) has now been in the UK for almost two years, and now has a range of petrol, diesel and fully electric models. In terms of its electric cars, it has the GV60 (our 2023 electric SUV of the Year, Electrified G80 and this, the Electrified GV70. As its name suggests, it's a fully electric version of the GV70, and it's ridiculously quick, refined and plush inside.

Model Electrified GV70 | Version Sport | List price £64,405 | Target Price £64,405 | Target PCP £740 | Star rating 4

Read our full Genesis Electrified GV70 review or see our latest Genesis Electrified GV70 deals >>

Honda

Honda e front cornering

The Honda E is an electric car that majors on style, being distinctive to look at and very smart inside. It's also well equipped and fun to drive, but it is very expensive – especially considering its size. It can also only travel 131 miles officially between charges, which is pretty poor compared with rivals. Plus, in the real world, that range is likely to drop to around 100 miles.

Model E | Version Advance | List price £37,395 | Target Price £36,118 | Target PCP £464 | Star rating 2

Read our full Honda E review or see our latest Honda E deals >>

Hyundai

Hyundai Ioniq 6 front right driving

Hyundai is on a bit of a roll at the moment, and that's evident by how impressive its electric cars are. For instance, not only does the Ioniq 6 share similar styling with the eye-catching Ioniq 5 electric SUV, but it's also very good to drive and smart inside. The range is good, too; our favourite rear-wheel drive model can travel an official 338 miles between charges.

Model Ioniq 6 | Version RWD Premium | List price £47,040 | Target Price £47,040 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 4

Read our full Hyundai Ioniq 6 review or see our latest Hyundai Ioniq 6 deals >>

Jaguar

Jaguar I-Pace front cornering

Jaguar was well ahead of the curve when it launched the I-Pace electric SUV back in 2018. And despite it still being the firm's only electric offering, it remains a very impressive package. It's brilliant to drive (with sharp handling and a comfortable ride), and it's very nicely finished inside. R-Dynamic S is our favourite trim, and gets you niceties such as ambient lighting and dual-zone climate control.

Model I-Pace | Version R-Dynamic S | List price £69,995 | Target Price £66,871 | Target PCP £698 | Star rating 4

Read our full Jaguar I-Pace review or see our latest Jaguar I-Pace deals >>

Jeep

Jeep Avenger front left driving

The Avenger is unlike any Jeep before it; not only is it fully electric, but it's also been designed and built specifically for European buyers. Arguably, such a radical departure is a big gamble on Jeep's part, but it seems to have paid off because the Avenger is stylish, good to drive and well equipped. Being quite small it isn't very practical, though, and some rivals have longer ranges.

Model Avenger | Version Altitude | List price £37,400 | Target Price £37,400 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 4

Read our full Jeep Avenger review or see our latest Jeep Avenger deals >>

Kia

Kia EV6 GT 2022 front cornering

The Kia EV6 GT has an astonishing power figure; with 577bhp on tap, it's more powerful than a Porsche 911 Turbo. As you would expect, it's lightning quick and can go from 0-62mph in just 3.5sec. That's pretty bonkers for a big and heavy electric SUV.

Model EV6 | Version GT | List price £62,645 | Target Price £62,645 | Target PCP £905 | Star rating 4

Read our full Kia EV6 GT review or see our latest Kia EV6 GT deals >>

Lexus

Lexus RZ front left tracking

Despite being a pioneer in hybrid technology, Lexus has only just entered the electric car game with the RZ electric SUV. However, the firm's expertise clearly shows, because the RZ is comfortable and quiet to drive. It's also practical and feels very well made.

Model RZ | Version 450e RZ | List price £64,500 | Target Price £63,546 | Target PCP £836 | Star rating 4

Read our full Lexus RZ review or see our latest Lexus RZ deals >>

Mazda

Mazda MX-30 front right tracking

Mazda's only electric car is a relatively affordable and well-equipped electric SUV. Even the entry-level Prime Line, for instance, gets a head-up display, power-folding door mirrors and automatic wipers as standard. However, its official range of just 124 miles limits its appeal.

Model MX-30 | Version Prime Line | List price £31,250 | Target Price £29,846 | Target PCP £374 | Star rating 2

Read our full Mazda MX-30 review or see our latest Mazda MX-30 deals >>

Mercedes

Mercedes EQS SUV front left driving

The Mercedes range of electric cars is growing by the day, and the EQS SUV is the latest car to join the firm's line-up. As its name suggests, it's the SUV equivalent of the EQS electric saloon, and it's suitably quiet, quick and spacious. Range is good, too (the 450 model can travel 365 miles officially), but the interior quality isn't as impressive as it should be.

Model EQS SUV | Version EQS 450 AMG Line | List price £129,170 | Target Price £129,170 | Target PCP £1487 | Star rating 4

Read our full Mercedes EQS SUV review or see our latest Mercedes EQS SUV deals >>

MG

MG4 2023 front right tracking

One of the biggest issues with new electric cars is that they tend to be pricey, but MG's newest electric car – the MG4 – is one of the cheapest around. It's impressive elsewhere, too, being quick to charge, spacious and very well equipped. In fact, we think it's so good that we named it our 2023 Small Electric Car of the Year.

Model MG4 | Version Standard Range SE | List price £26,995 | Target Price £26,596 | Target PCP £291 | Star rating 5

Read our full MG4 review or see our latest MG4 deals >>

Mini

Mini Electric 2023 driving

The Mini Electric proves that electric cars don't need a huge amount of power to be fun – even with 181bhp on tap it still feels suitably quick. In other areas, it's also stylish, smart inside and surprisingly well priced, but it is let down by a measly 145-mile official range. Speaking of which, an all-new version is just around the corner, and it's said to have a much better official range of 240 miles.

Model Electric | Version Level 2 | List price £32,550 | Target Price £31,591 | Target PCP £369 | Star rating 4

Read our full Mini Electric review or see our latest Mini Electric deals >>

Nissan

Nissan Ariya front cornering

The electric SUV class is one of the fastest growing out there, and as such, the Ariya is one of the latest cars to enter the ring. It's a decent offering, too, being practical, well-equipped and smart inside. For the best range, we think the 87kWh makes the most sense.

Model Ariya | Version 87kWh Advance | List price £51,895 | Target Price £49,692 | Target PCP £494 | Star rating 4

Read our full Nissan Ariya review or see our latest Nissan Ariya deals >>

Peugeot

Peugeot e-2008 front

Peugeot has recently given the e-2008 an update. Not stylistically, but mechanically, with tweaks to the electric motors to improve efficiency. However, a fully redesigned facelift model is just around the corner, with further styling and mechanical updates.

Model e-2008 | Version Allure Premium + | List price £37,500 | Target Price £35,574 | Target PCP £498 | Star rating 4

Read our full Peugeot e-2008 review or see our latest Peugeot e-2008 deals >>

Polestar

Polestar 2 front cornering

Thanks to the addition of a new 78kWh (usable) battery, the Polestar 2 can now travel 395 miles officially in Long Range Single Motor form, giving it one of the longest ranges of any new electric car. Elsewhere, the 2 has also received small updates, including a switch from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive for the single motor models.

Model 2 | Version Long Range Single Motor | List price £46,450 | Target Price £46,450 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 3

Read our full Polestar 2 review or see our latest Polestar 2 deals >>

Porsche

Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo 2021 front

With its slightly bigger boot, roomier rear seats and greater visibility, the Sport Turismo builds on already hugely appealing package that the Taycan offers. For the best balance of price and pace, we think the 4S model makes the most sense, but we wouldn't blame you if you went for the GTS.

Model Taycan Sport Turismo | Version 4S | List price £96,051 | Target Price £96,051 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 5

Read our full Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo review or see our latest Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo deals >>

Renault

Renault Megane E-Tech front right tracking

With the Zoe in its range for more than a decade, Renault has been in the electric car game for a very long time. However, it's recently launched the Megane E-Tech, which is a new model built on bespoke electric car underpinnings. We think it's worth considering because it offers a great driving position, a comfortable ride and strong performance. Equilibre is our favourite trim level, giving you heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and full LED headlights as standard.

Model Megane | Version EV60 Equilibre | List price £36,995 | Target Price £35,545 | Target PCP £371 | Star rating 4

Read our full Renault Megane review or see our latest Renault Megane deals >>

Skoda

Skoda Enyaq Coupé front cornering

Skoda's newest electric car is the Enyaq Coupé. And despite it's higher price and sloping roofline, it doesn't sacrifice much practicality over the regular Enyaq, plus it maintains that model's comfortable ride, excellent interior and decent range.

Model Enyaq Coupé | Version 80 Loft | List price £44,825 | Target Price £44,383 | Target PCP £499 | Star rating 4

Read our full Skoda Enyaq Coupé review or see our latest Skoda Enyaq Coupé deals >>

Smart

Smart #1 front

Smart's newest electric car might have a confusing name (for reference, it's pronounced 'hashtag one'), but it is a very impressive electric SUV. It's well priced, smart inside and very spacious in the back seats. All models get lots of standard kit as well.

Model #1 | Version Pro + | List price £35,950 | Target Price £35,950 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 4

Read our full Smart #1 review >>

Subaru

Subaru Solterra front cornering

Subaru's newest and only electric car is the Solterra electric SUV. It's based on the same underpinnings as the Toyota bZ4X but is only offered with four-wheel drive. While that does make it quite rugged, it also makes it quite expensive and limits the range.

Model Solterra | Version Limited | List price £49,995 | Target Price £49,255 | Target PCP £1068 | Star rating 3

Read our full Subaru Solterra review or see our latest Subaru Solterra deals >>

Tesla

Tesla Model Y 2023 driving

The Model Y has been selling like hot cakes ever since it was launched a couple of years ago. Why? Well, it's a very competent electric SUV that's quick, practical and competitively priced. On top of that, it's also has a good range and loads of interior tech. On the downside, though, it's not the most nimble car in bends, feeling rather like a Model 3 on stilts, and it isn't the most comfortable or refined of electric SUVs.

Model Model Y | Version Long Range AWD | List price £52,990 | Target Price £52,990 | Target PCP NA | Star rating 4

Read our full Tesla Model Y review or see our latest Tesla Model Y deals >>

Toyota

New Toyota bZ4x front cornering

Toyota makes a lot of hybrid cars but it only makes one electric car – the bZ4X. As it goes, it's a pretty good one – especially in front-wheel-drive (FWD) Motion form. It's good to drive, surprisingly roomy and well equipped, but the range is only average for the class.

Model bZ4X | Version Motion | List price £49,910 | Target Price £49,419 | Target PCP £493 | Star rating 4

Read our full Toyota bZ4X review or see our latest Toyota bZ4X deals >>

Vauxhall

Vauxhall Mokka-e 2021 nose

Vauxhall makes two electric cars, the Corsa-e and the Mokka-e. Of the two, the latter is the newest, offering sharp looks, a generous amount of standard kit and a relatively comfy ride. For the newest Vauxhall electric car, though, it's worth noting that a fully electric version of the Astra is just around the corner.

Model Mokka-E | Version GS | List price £38,835 | Target Price £37,029 | Target PCP £478 | Star rating 3

Read our full Vauxhall Mokka-E review or see our latest Vauxhall Mokka-E deals >>

Volkswagen

Volkswagen ID Buzz front

Our 2023 Car of the Year, the Volkswagen ID Buzz not only offers bucket loads of charm, but it's also hugely practical, quiet and very comfortable to drive. In fact, we think it makes far more sense than premium electric SUV alternatives, including the BMW iX3 and Tesla Model Y.

Model ID Buzz | Version Pro Style | List price £63,715 | Target Price £63,715 | Target PCP £669 | Star rating 5

Read our full Volkswagen ID Buzz review or see our latest Volkswagen ID Buzz deals >>

Volvo

Volvo C40 Recharge front cornering

Volvo has recently updated both the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge, giving them new electric motors and larger batteries. In fact, the twin motor C40 Recharge (which produces a hefty 402bhp) can now travel 342 miles officially with its 79kWh battery. However, of the two versions, we think the single motor C40 makes more sense, offering sufficient performance, a cheaper price and an official range of 297 miles.

Model C40 Recharge | Version 175kW Recharge Plus | List price £53,905 | Target Price £53,305 | Target PCP £655 | Star rating 4
