2014 Renault Megane pricing announced

The 2014 Renault Megane is available to order now, with an unchanged entry-level price of £16,745.

This face-lift brings the styling into line with the rest of the Renault family, adding a gloss black strip across the nose and silver 'brows' above the headlight lenses.

The 2014 model range is available with a choice of five engines and four trims. Petrols include a 109bhp 1.6 or a turbocharged 1.2 in 114bhp or 128bhp states of tune. The most powerful petrol is available with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The diesel choice is between a 109bhp 1.5 or 128bhp 1.6.

Some models are cheaper: the 1.5 diesel with a manual gearbox has had a price cut of £1200 across the range, while the automatic version is now £850 cheaper. The 114bhp petrol now costs £275 less.

Cheapest car in the range remains the 109bhp 1.6 petrol hatchback in Expression+ spec, which includes air-conditioning, Bluetooth, a USB socket and alloy wheels. LED daytime running lights are now standard, too. This trim is available only on the hatchback and Tourer models.

Knight Edition spec, which is the entry point for the Coupe model, is available with either the 1.6 petrol or 1.5 diesel engine. This trim adds styling upgrades and different alloy wheels, plus rear parking sensors and electric folding door mirrors. It’s priced from £17,145.

Dynamique TomTom cars start at £17,745 and now get climate control as standard, along with automatic lights and wipers, cruise control and sat-nav.

Renault has discontinued the 89bhp and 163bhp diesel engines in the Renault Megane range. The 109bhp diesel with the six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox has been added to the GT-Line TomTom trim, priced from £21,745.

The 2014 Renault Megane is available to order now. The first hatchback and Coupe demonstrators should be available for test drives at dealers from December 13, while the face-lifted Tourer model arrives early next year.
