Mini Countryman Electric 1.5 C Classic [Level 1] 5dr Auto Review
Category: Electric car
Section: Version review
Provided you don’t frequently need to venture too far away from a charging point, the Mini Countryman Electric makes a good case as an upmarket family SUV that you can plug in.
The trim
See full equipmentEntry-level Classic trim is reasonably well equipped, featuring 17in alloy wheels, two-zone climate control, a 9.5in infotainment touchscreen, cruise control and keyless start. Plus, you get rear parkings sensors and a camera to help with parking. We reckon Exclusive trim is worth the extra, though.
The engine
See full engine specsThe 168bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine in this model can feel slightly hesitant when you're setting off from a standstill, but it's punchy enough on the move and impressively refined despite having only three cylinders; you just hear a distant thrummy note. It's therefore the one we'd choose.
