In isolation, the Grecale looks to be a step in the right direction for Maserati: this SUV offers capable handling and a smart, spacious interior. Our favourite version – the entry-level GT – is quick enough and has the most comfortable ride. Meanwhile, the all-electric Grecale Folgore is comfortable but also expensive compared with the electric Porsche Macan, which outclasses it for handling.
Like the entry-level engine, this 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine gets mild-hybrid assistance for extra efficiency, but it also gets a boost in power to 325bhp. That means a faster 0-62mph sprint of 5.3sec, so it’s even better when you need a burst of power.
