Most buyers will be best served by the hybrid (HEV) model, although the plug-in (PHEV) will appeal to company car drivers and the diesel is the one to go for if you’re towing. We think the entry-level trim – called 2 – is the best choice.

See full equipmentThis entry-level trim makes the most sense in the lineup because it’s the cheapest version of the Sorento but still comes with a decent amount of kit. That includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and wireless smartphone mirroring. It’s a shame it misses out on some safety equipment which the higher trim levels get, though.
