The model
Read full Ford Puma Gen-E reviewThe Ford Puma Gen-E electric SUV is competitively priced, good to drive and has a usefully large boot. However, there are rivals that offer more rear seat space, and the Gen-E's range is a bit behind the times. If you do buy one, we recommend sticking with the entry-level Select version.
The trim

The engine
See full engine specsWith 124bhp, the Ecoboost mHEV 125 can officially accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.8sec – far quicker than an entry-level Nissan Juke or Volkswagen T-Roc. It comes with a super-slick, six-speed manual gearbox as standard, or you have a smooth seven-speed automatic gearbox for a premium. Regardless of the gearbox, this engine pulls reasonably well from low revs, although the more powerful 1.0 Ecoboost mHEV 155 version is much faster.
