The 488 GTB is a car you'll rarely see with high mileage. Examples are often kept in amazing condition and, being not too old, there shouldn't be much wear and tear. This is due to a software bug, which, under certain specific conditions, could cause a reset of the wear value estimated by the software. The risk is that the critical threshold of wear of the brake discs is reached without the relevant warning lamp and message being shown to the driver. If such a condition occurs, the worst case scenario could be damage to the brake discs with increased risk of an accident. This recall was issued in 2018 and can be resolved upon contacting your local Ferrari dealership.

The 488 GTB didn't feature in our latest What Car? Reliability Survey, nor did Ferrari as a brand. That being said, Ferrari has a good reputation for building cars that don't often suffer major issues.
