The engine
See full engine specsOur favourite engine is this six-cylinder petrol. It's serenely quiet when you want it to be, and nice and snarly when you’re pressing on. However, while it offers fractionally quicker acceleration than the 40d (0-62mph in 5.8sec) you do need to rev the engine a bit harder to access that performance.
