<p>Alpina has produced high-performance versions of BMW's range since the 1960s, and is now considered to be a manufacturer in its own right.</p>

<p>Whilst it cars are typically fast, and are often considered alternatives to BMW's M models, they are typically more comfortable with engines that provide a more relaxed power delivery.</p>

<p>Its models have similar naming conventions to the equivalent BMW: the B3 is based on the BMW 3 Series and the B4 Gran Coupé started life as a 4 Series Gran Coupé, for example.</p>
