The model
Read full Audi A5 Sportback reviewThe A5 Sportback blends coupé-like styling with decent practicality. If you want something that's efficient to run, comfortable and refined, with a beautifully executed interior, it's one of the best coupés for the cash. It also handles well, but if you prefer thrilling and playful rear-wheel-drive dynamics, we'd opt for the excellent BMW 4 Series instead.
The trim
See full equipmentOur favourite trim comes with 18in alloy wheels, softer and more comfortable suspension, LED headlights, leather trim, heated front seats, adjustable lumbar support, three-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, ambient interior lighting, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, cruise control, wireless phone-charging, an eight-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, sat-nav, a 10.1in infotainment screen and four USB ports.
The engine
See full engine specsThis has 161bhp and is our pick of the range. It has plenty of low-down punch so you can tootle around town effortlessly, as well as the outright pace to whisk you up to motorway speeds effectively (0-62mph takes a very respectable 8.4sec). It can also manage nearly 60mpg when you drive it carefully and is quieter than some petrol engines.
