Review

The Renault Zoe is great value, fairly practical and has a long range between charges. Limited modern safety kit and a flawed driving position make the Peugeot e-208 a better buy, though – assuming you can live with a slightly shorter range.

Trim: GT Line

Top-spec GT Line comes only with the R135 motor, but brings a larger 9.3in touchscreen infotainment screen with sat nav. Other additions include synthetic leather and recycled cloth upholstery, a reversing camera and blindspot monitoring. The only big disappointment if that you don't get, and can't add, automatic emergency braking.

Engine: 100KW i

The more powerful of two electric motors is worth the relatively small premium (over the R110). Acceleration is noticeably stronger above 40mph, making the Zoe more accomplished on fast A-roads and motorways.
