Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo 2.9 V6 4S E-Hybrid [5 seats] 5dr PDK Review
Category: Luxury car
Section: Version review
If you’re after a sharper-driving alternative to big luxury estates and plug-in hybrids, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is well worth considering. It doesn’t have the biggest boot around, but it’s still quite practical and there’s loads of rear seat space. There’s certainly no lack of performance and it handles very well for such a big car. However, an AMG E63S Estate provides a better blend of space and pace.
The trim
See full equipmentThe main reason for opting for the 4S is the way it drives, because the equipment is reasonable but nothing out of the ordinary at this price level. You get 19in alloy wheels, composite brakes, eight-way powered front seats, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, cruise control, power-folding door mirrors, wireless phone charging, a 10-speaker/ 150-watt stereo, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, a powered tailgate, adaptive air suspension, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and heated front seats. You’ll need to pay for extras such as privacy glass, lumbar adjustment and keyless entry.
The engine
See full engine specsIf you’re after a hybrid Panamera, we reckon the 4S E-Hybrid, with its 0-62mph time of 3.7sec and all-electric range of up to 31 miles, strikes the great compromise between performance and company car tax. Expect no more than 30mpg average when the battery has run out, though.
