VW to show Polo GTI concept car
* 'Initial impression' of Polo GTI * Flash Red finish and black stripes * To be unveiled this week...
Volkswagen is planning a GTI version of its new Polo.
The Polo Worthersee 09 concept car, described as an 'initial impression' of the VW Polo GTI, will be revealed in Austria later this week.
The concept car is finished in Flash Red paint, with full-length black stripes, black 18-inch alloy wheels, and colour-coded door mirrors, along with headlamp surrounds and bumper inserts.
Its suspension has been lowered, and a sports exhaust has also been added.
Inside, the black-upholstered cabin has microfibre/leather seats with white stripes and red piping and stitching. There are also high-gloss trim details and aluminium tread plates.
Although the concept car has the standard 85bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine, the production Polo GTI is expected to get a more-powerful turbocharged unit.
