10 March – Got to pick a pocket or two
Ever find yourself rifling through every one of your trouser pockets before you actually find what you’re looking for? It certainly pays to have a systematic approach to distributing keys, phones and loose change between the compartments at your disposal, and I’ve found the exact same thing with my Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
It has so many handy places to stow things that I’m still moving in, even after a few months, but certain compartments immediately lent themselves to specific purposes. The cupholders between the front seats are adjustable enough to handle my trusty Chillys drinking bottle while also placing my hand sanitiser in a convenient spot (on photoshoots, I’m endlessly jumping from car to car). The door pockets ably look after my car cleaning and de-icing kit, while my keys (and ibuprofen) live in the pouch below the headlight controls, and the chilled glovebox is great for my sandwiches.
The holder for my sunglasses is a nice touch, too, but I wonder how long it’ll take me to forget that they’re in there.
