Used test: Seat Ateca vs Volkswagen Tiguan verdict
The Seat Ateca and Volkswagen Tiguan are closely related under the skin, but there are also key differences. So, which is the better used buy?...
Our Verdict
The Seat Ateca is simply a class act. It succeeds at giving buyers a family SUV that's good to drive, well-equipped and excellent value for money. In many group comparisons, it often dominates, beating everything from the Audi Q3 to the Vauxhall Grandland X. However, in this particular used twin test, it's met its match.
We'll admit that if the Ateca featured a more affordable trim, it would likely be victorious – it's that close – but as it stands, the model can't earn points over the Volkswagen Tiguan on price. When you take that into account, as well as the Tiguan's superior comfort, practicality, interior quality and cruising manners, a certain ranking becomes clear. Sure, not night and day clear, but clear enough to name the Tiguan our winner.
