Used test: Peugeot 5008 vs Seat Tarraco: verdict
The 5008 and Tarraco are both stylish and practical choices, but which is the better used buy?...
Our verdict
For a large SUV, the Seat Tarraco balances ride comfort and handling impressively well. Its interior is also one of the best the brand has ever offered. On the other hand, it lacks a competitive edge in some key areas, leaving room for rivals to best it.Â
The Peugeot 5008 is cheaper to run, has more safety kit and is even classier inside and more practical, especially when it comes to third-row seating space. Plus, although you’d think its tiny 1.2-litre engine would be no match for the Tarraco’s larger 1.5-litre one, it actually delivers better performance in every situation. So, in the end, the 5008 proves to be the stylish large SUV that makes the most sense. Â

1st – Peugeot 5008
For Much cheaper to run; more space for passengers and luggage; higher-quality interior materials; punchy engine
Against Infotainment system could be better; lumpy low-speed ride on 19in wheels
For Decent to drive; solid-feeling interior; good driving position; plenty of infotainment features
Against Third-row seats are cramped; wheezy engine; high CO2 emissions and so-so fuel economyÂ
