Our Verdict
These SUVs are both very desirable and great used buys, albeit for different reasons.
The standout feature of the Jaguar F-Pace is its practicality – it's considerably roomier inside than the Porsche Macan. It's also more affordable to buy, as well as very comfortable and good fun to drive.
On the other hand, the Macan's driving experience is even more accomplished. It's so polished, capable and engaging that you'll end up finding as many excuses to get behind the wheel as possible. And it's a car for the head as well as the heart, because although it's slightly more expensive to buy than the F-Pace, its residual values are much stronger. It has a better reliability record, too.
With all this in mind, unless you really need the extra space, we'd go for the delightful Macan.
