Used test: Audi A5 Coupé vs Mercedes E-Class Coupé verdict
Buy one of these upmarket coupés from Audi and Mercedes used and you could save up to £20,000 on the price, but which should you have on your driveway?...
Our Verdict
Both of these cars are extremely tempting propositions bought at this age. There’ll be many for whom the lure of the three-pointed star will be more than enough to justify buying an E-Class Coupe. Allied to its undeniably handsome looks, it’s certainly got a lot of appeal.
However, if it were our money we'd go for the A5. You see it's just a little bit better in a number of key areas. With its smooth V6 engine, as well as confidence-inspiring, all-weather (four-wheel drive) handling and a neatly finished interior, the A5 proves to be everything you’d want from a posh coupé. It's cheaper, too, and the fact that you can have such strong performance and good fuel economy at the same time is simply a bonus.
