This is the updated Mitsubishi Shogun, which arrives in UK showrooms this week.
The Shogun now comes with a turbodiesel engine that complies with the latest Euro V laws, and the choice of three-door short-wheelbase, or five-door long-wheelbase versions.
A mild face-lift includes new front grille, bumper and alloy wheel design. Inside, theres new cloth or leather upholstery and extra metallic trim.
Most trims have been re-named: Entry-level SG2 replaces Equippe; Warrior trim remains the next step up, while SG3 and SG4 replace Elegance and Diamond respectively.
Extra equipment on SG3 and SG4 includes automatic lights and wipers, while SG4 brings a brake-override system that stops the car if the brake and accelerator are pressed at the same time, and a colour-coded spare wheel cover.
The updated Shogun is available in the following colours:
• Diamond Black (pearlescent)
• Frost White (solid)
• Graphite Brown (metallic)
• Orient Red (metallic)
• Cool Silver (metallic)
The Shogun's updated 3.2-litre diesel engine now meets Euro V emissions standards, but it produces the same 197bhp as before. Theres no improvement in fuel economy or CO2 emissions either.
Average economy ranges between 33.2mpg to 36.2mpg depending on the version and transmission, while CO2 emissions are from 207g/km to 224g/km.
Prices range from 29,499 for the entry-level SG2 and rise to 40,999 for the SG4.
