The most popular used car reviews of 2019
Over a million readers per month look at our used reviews for guidance on their next purchase, but which is the most popular? We’re counting down our top 10.....
The new car market has some 400 different models on sale, which is rather a lot for even the sharpest consumer mind to get their head around. The used car market has even more choice when you consider the various generations of cars out there; we alone have over 1000 used reviews on our website, so how's a buyer supposed to narrow down their search?
How about taking a look at our list of the most popular used reviews on What Car? for some guidance? This is a list we've compiled of our top-performing reviews from throughout the year.
Our list presents an interesting mix of traditional used best sellers, premium luxury SUVs and even one or two examples of models that have long since disappeared from their respective manufacturers’ price lists.
Over the next few pages, you can find out which have been the most popular used reviews on What Car? this year – and remember to check out the used pages to see all our new and updated used reviews.

10. Vauxhall Mokka 2012-2016
While the Mokka (and later Mokka X) isn’t our favourite small SUV, it’s understandable why it remains a favourite with second-hand buyers. Firstly, there are loads of them around, which means finding one in good condition and with plenty of equipment a doddle. Also, there are plenty of Vauxhall dealers around, which is great news when it comes time to get your car serviced. Reliability compares well with that of rivals, too.
What Car? rating two out of five
Our pick: 1.4T 140 Exclusiv 2WD

9. Nissan Qashqai 2007-2013
We have a lot to thank the first generation of Nissan Qashqai for: it kickstarted the whole family SUV craze. Its popularity when new has endured to this day, and even though it went out of production over six years ago, there are still lots to choose from. Go for a post-facelift Qashqai and you’ll get a better interior with a more up to date infotainment system, plus the petrol engine range was improved around that time, the asthmatic 1.6 being replaced by a more flexible turbocharged 1.2.
What Car? rating five out of five
Our pick: 1.5 dCi Tekna

8. Volvo V50 2004-2012
This is the review that continues to surprise us; the Volvo V50 has long since been replaced with more modern Volvo offerings, yet our used review still continues to draw in an audience. Most visitors are interested in the advice pages that look into the common problems and what to look out for, which is understandable considering that all examples are well out of manufacturer’s warranty.
