The Skoda Rapid Spaceback will cost from £14,340 when it goes on sale in January 2014.
It will come in three trim levels, and with a choice of five engines, one of which emits just 99g/km of CO2.
The three trim levels on offer are S, SE and Elegance, with the £14,340 entry-level S model bringing front electric windows, air-conditioning, split-folding rear seats, remote central locking, CD player and radio and 15-inch steel wheels.
SE trim adds rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, body-coloured mirrors and door handles, cruise control, foglights, four electric windows, leather cabin details and 15-inch alloy wheels. Range-topping Elegance offers everything from SE, but adds climate control, cornering front foglights, front and rear floor mats, aluminium-look details and 16-inch alloys.
The price jump from S to SE works out at £1140, while the step from SE to Elegance is £460.
Rapid Spaceback has a smaller engine range than the standard Rapid, with three petrol and two diesel engines on offer. The entry-level model is the 85bhp 1.2-litre TSI petrol, which emits the same 119g/km of CO2 as the hatchback.
Other engines are a 104hp 1.2-litre and 120bhp 1.4-litre petrol, and a 1.6-litre diesel in 89bhp and 104bhp power outputs. The two diesels and the most powerful petrol are all available with a DSG automatic gearbox.
The 99g/km emissions will come from a Rapid Spaceback Greenline model, details of which are yet to be released.
Despite the jump in price over the standard Rapid, the Spaceback comes with a smaller boot. The Spaceback offers only 415 litres of luggage capacity, compared with the Rapid's 550-litre boot.
