Seat Leon Ecomotive available to order
* Seat Leon with CO2 emissions of 87g/km and 85.6mpg * Prices start at £19,360 * On sale now, first deliveries in January 2014...
The new Seat Leon Ecomotive has gone on sale, and is capable of a claimed 85.6mpg.
It is also the cleanest ever Seat because it emits just 87g/km of CO2, which puts it in the lowest band for VED tax and the 13% company car tax bracket. That said, the Volkswagen Golf Bluemotion is cleaner still, emitting just 85g/km.
The Leon is available in three bodystyles – a three-door SC, five-door hatcback and the ST estate model – all of which have the same claimed emissions and economy figures. They are powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine, which is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine's power has been boosted from 104bhp to 108bhp. The ST and SC get to 62mph from rest in 10.4 seconds, while the five-door takes 10.5 seconds.
These Leon Ecomotive models also have low-rolling-resistance tyres, lowered suspension, a bodykit and a bespoke front grille.
Equipment is based on the SE trim, which means the Ecomotive cars come with cruise control, cornering headlights, leather steering wheel and gearknob, Bluetooth, electric windows.
Seat's Technology Pack will also be included free on cars ordered by December 31. This is the case with all SE- and FR-spec Leons, too.
The Ecomotive SC is priced from £19,360, the 5dr starts at £19,660, and the Leon ST is available from £20,485.
