Promoted: Why the Nissan Qashqai is a five-star car
The Qashqai has won a host of awards and scored top marks in What Car? tests, thanks to its all-round excellence...
The original Nissan Qashqai helped start the trend for small SUVs when it was launched in 2007, and the latest version of the versatile car continues to lead the way in the class.
That’s why What Car? awarded the second-generation Qashqai the maximum score of five stars in its road test, and named it the best small SUV in the What Car? Awards for the past three years in a row. In 2014, the Qashqai won the brand’s overall Car of the Year prize, too.
What Car? reviewers praised the Qashqai as a strong all-round package, particularly highlighting the car’s well-designed interior, choice of efficient engines, affordability and practicality.
So what makes the Qashqai so deserving of that string of honours? There are plenty of reasons, and to highlight them Nissan asked us to make a video explaining how we’d reached our conclusions – and funded its creation.
To find out why editorial director Jim Holder and senior road tester John Howell reckon the Qashqai has become an “icon” for What Car?, just watch this video.
