Peugeot 3008 vs Seat Ateca vs Toyota C-HR

Looking for a stylish and family-friendly SUV? Then the Peugeot 3008, Seat Ateca and Toyota C-HR all fit the bill, but which is best?...

Infotainment systems

Every 3008 gets a 12.3in digital instrument cluster and an 8.0in colour touchscreen in the centre of the dash. Both are crisp, clear and logically laid out, but the touchscreen is quite sluggish to respond to prods and some of the on-screen buttons are too small. Sat-nav, a DAB radio, Bluetooth, a USB socket and Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink are all standard, though.

Entry-level S models get a 5.0in monochrome screen with an FM radio, USB port, SD card and Bluetooth connectivity. Go for SE trim and above and you'll get a full colour 8.0in touchscreen instead. Although it's menus aren't quite as easy to navigate as those in a Kia Sportage, you do get more functionality with clearer displays.

Toyota C-HR

The C-HR also has an 8.0in touchscreen, but it has the lowest resolution. It’s often slow to respond to presses, and its menu systems are unnecessarily complex and unintuitive. Disappointingly, there’s no advanced smartphone syncing option, such as Apple CarPlay, but a DAB radio and sat-nav are at least present and correct. The optional JBL stereo delivers stunning sound quality, so is well worth considering.
