Peugeot 3008 vs Peugeot 5008: verdict
Peugeot’s SUVs have lots of great things in common, so how do you pick one? We pit the seven-seat 5008 against the smaller plug-in hybrid 3008...
Our verdict
These two cars are closely related under the skin, so it’s not surprising that in some areas, such as driving positions and interior quality, they feel remarkably similar.
If you’re a company car driver, the Peugeot 3008 might well be a no-brainer on tax savings alone. Likewise, if the plug-in hybrid setup suits your lifestyle, it’ll also have the potential to slash your running costs. But it feels compromised in the way it drives, and it’s neither the best plug-in hybrid in its class nor even the best version of the 3008.
The Peugeot 5008 remains a terrific choice if you need a practical seven-seater for a reasonable price. The extra space and versatility it provides are always going to come in handy, plus it’s better to drive than its sibling. It gets our vote again.
