This is the Peugeot 208 GTi, which has been unveiled at the 2012 Paris motor show, before going on sale in spring 2013.
The new range-topping version of the three-door comes with a 200bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine, which should take the car to 62mph in less than seven seconds. The new hot hatch will a rival for cars such as the Mini Cooper S, Renault Clio Renaulsport and the Volkswagen Polo GTI.
As well as the increase in power, the 208 GTi gets a selection of upgrades, underneath, inside and cosmetically.
On the outside there are sill and wheelarch extensions, a special black GTi grille, new halogen headlights and a selection of GTi badges. New 17-inch 'diamond carbon' alloy wheels are standard, as are uprated brakes.

Although it is being launched as a three-door, Peugeot insiders say that a five-door version hasn't been ruled out, even though a five-door version of its predecessor hasn't been offered.
Inside, a set of aluminium pedals, red highlights and aluminium trim continue the GTis bespoke look. The seats, steering wheel, floormats and handbrake are all edged with red stitching.

The 208 GTi averages CO2 emissions of 145g/km. Peugeot hasn't released fuel economy figures, but we'd expect it to average around 45mpg.

Prices for the Peugeot 208 GTi haven't been confirmed, but we'd expect it to start at around 19,000. First deliveries are expected in May 2013.
