New Lexus LBX vs used BMW X1 practicality
It's no secret that we think highly of the new Lexus LBX, but, for similar money, you could pick up a year-old BMW X1, so is that the better buy?...
Space and practicality
Front space, rear space, seating flexibility, boot
Up front, space is plentiful, whether you're sitting in the Lexus LBX or BMW X1. Make your way to the back seats, though, and you'll want to be in the X1: it has a tad more head room and considerably more leg room. In the LBX, you'll start to run out of room if you're six feet or taller, while you should still have a decent amount of room to stretch in the X1. Also, the X1, being much wider, is definitely the one to choose if you regularly need to chauffeur three people in the back.
The X1 also features handy 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, as opposed to the LBX's more conventional 60/40 split. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the X1 has a bigger boot, too. Six carry-on suitcases are commendable for a car of the LBX's size, mind you.
