Kia e-Niro vs Kia Soul EV: verdict

The Kia e-Niro is a former What Car? Car of the Year and remains an excellent choice if you're looking to go electric. But is the same brand's new Soul EV even better?...

Kia e-Niro vs Kia Soul EV

Our verdict

The Soul EV is a welcome addition to the electric car class. It combines strong performance with a long range, comes very well equipped and is practical. But as the old Formula 1 adage goes, the first person you have to beat is your team-mate, and unfortunately for the Soul, it's ultimately outclassed by the slightly older e-Niro.

Not only is the e-Niro just as quick and usable, but it's also better to drive and more comfortable. Add in a lower PCP rate, stronger resale values and similar equipment levels, and the e-Niro remains the best electric family SUV on sale.
