This is Infiniti's G Cabrio concept, which gives us a good idea of what a sporty Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) version of the car would look like.
The company has already launched IPL in the US and is going to use reaction to the Paris concept car to decide whether it should follow suit in Europe.
The G Cabrio has a new bumper, with a blacked-out grille and headlight surrounds, and it rides on 19-inch graphite alloys encased in sculptured side sill extensions.
Under the bonnet is a 333bhp 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine that's 8bhp more than the standard unit thanks to a dual exhaust system that reduces pressure by 30%.
Top speed of the de-restricted concept is around 168mph, with 0-62mph in less than six seconds.
Sorry, but where do the samurai come into it?
The centre console is finished with black lacquer, while the dashboard area above the glovebox and doors are covered with something Infiniti calls Kacchu.
This shares its name with the armour used by Japans samurai in the Middle Ages, which had small iron plates woven through cloth to provide lightweight strength and flexibility.
However, the stuff in this car just looked very red and felt a bit bobbly to us.
Also on the stand is the Infiniti M hybrid. Infiniti is the first car manufacturer to offer a petrol version, diesel version and a hybrid in one model line-up.
