Deal of the Day: Lease a Skoda Fabia from £187 per month
The Fabia is one of the best small cars on sale, and you could lease one for a keen price. Here's all you need to know, including how much you'll pay up front

You might think that buying a small car can become pretty expensive if you want something that offers plenty of equipment, good practicality and a comfortable driving experience. However, the Skoda Fabia is here to prove that idea wrong.

You see, the Fabia is very well-priced, but it holds its own against even more premium rivals such as the Volkswagen Polo because it offers a really solid all-round package. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you might be pleased to know that you could put a new Fabia on your driveway for as little as £187 per month.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £2232.78 (equal to 12 monthly repayments) plus a £245 processing fee. After this, you'll make 23 payments of £186.07. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.

If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with an initial payment of £1428.30 (equal to six monthly repayments) and £245 processing fee, which will cost £238.05 per month.

There are a number of petrol engines available with the Fabia, but our Deal of the Day comes with the mid-range TSI 116, which uses a 1.0-litre unit with 114bhp. It has a bit more oomph to get you up to motorway speeds effortlessly, plus it comes matched to a DSG automatic gearbox.
The Fabia is a standout in the small car class for comfort, thanks to its soft suspension set-up. It’s smoother than the Renault Clio and Seat Ibiza, and it protects you well from lumps and bumps in the road.

Thanks to the Fabia’s light steering, it’s a doddle to manoeuvre around narrow city streets and tight car parks. However, there’s a fair amount of body lean through corners; if you want something a bit more agile, it’s worth looking at the Clio or Ibiza, which are sportier.
You shouldn’t have any issues getting comfortable inside the Fabia because its driver’s seat comes with a wide range of adjustment and lumbar support.

Elsewhere inside, there’s a 10.25in digital driver’s display behind the wheel, alongside an 8.0in infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring are standard, which is handy because this version of the Fabia doesn’t come with built-in sat-nav.
While the Fabia isn’t as spacious as the Honda Jazz, it still offers plenty of room in both the front and rear for taller passengers. And, with 380 litres of boot space, there’s enough room for the Fabia to carry six carry-on suitcases below its parcel shelf, beating all its rivals.
Our Deal of the Day comes in Design Edition trim, which comes with 16in wheels, keyless engine start, dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control and automatic LED headlights.
