So you want a new SUV – and why wouldn't you? These are some of the most popular cars in the UK, thanks to their high driving positions, family-friendly practicality and reasonable running costs. And with What Car?'s Target Price deals, you don't need to spend a lot to drive one, either.

Our Target Price researchers spend all day, every day, talking to dealers up and down the country and finding out how low they'll go, and we then print that price online and in What Car? magazine; think of it as haggling on your behalf. But if you buy through our New Car Buying service, you could save even more, so you'll want to look there first for the best deal.

PCP deals are hugely popular in the UK – around 85% of all new cars are brought in this way – and because you're only financing a small portion of the car's total value, you could drive away in something you might otherwise struggle to afford.

Here, we've listed the cheapest PCP finance deals on SUVs – the cheapest starting from just £159 per month. Each deal is based on a 15% deposit and is for three years. In each case, you can follow the links to read our in-depth reviews, or see our latest deals too.

10. Volkswagen T-Cross 1.0 TSI S

Target Price cost per month £203 Target Price (on the road) £15,761 The deal Three years at 4.9% APR and £750 finance deposit allowance

Volkswagen T-Cross

It's rare that the best car in a class also happens to be among the cheapest, but sure enough the Volkswagen T-Cross is the best small SUV you can buy. This 94bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine is our pick of the range and is perfect if you'll mainly be driving in town. Mix that with S trim and you'll have most bases covered, but the good news is that stepping up to our recommended SE spec won't cost you much more.

9. Peugeot 2008 1.2 Puretech 110 Signature

Target Price cost per month £202 Target Price (on the road) £15,433 The deal Three years at 2.9% APR and £1750 finance deposit allowance

Peugeot 2008

There are better all-rounders in the small SUV class, but Peugeot's smallest SUV does offer a classy interior and low running costs. This mid-range 1.2-litre petrol engine is punchy, flexible and willing to rev, while Signature trim gets you Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, automatic lights and wipers and rear parking sensors.

8. Suzuki Ignis 1.2 Dualjet SHVS SZ-T

Target Price cost per month £182 Target Price (on the road) £13,028 The deal Three years at 6.9% APR

Suzuki Ignis

Don't be fooled by the Ignis's small size; this is one seriously impressive SUV. It's deceptively spacious, offers a generous amount of equipment and is very cheap to buy and run. Indeed, the Ignis is the most frugal car we've ever put through our True MPG test, thanks partly to the fact that this version is a mild hybrid.
