Would you like to find out about some of the latest active safety technology available on cars and see how effectively it works?

What Car? has teamed up with Britain's Euro NCAP affiliate, Thatcham Research, to give you the chance to do just that. You’ll be able to try out several systems in a safe environment and find out about different car makers' lane-keeping assistance technology – from devices that simply warn the driver when they’re crossing a white line to more sophisticated set-ups that actively steer your car away from danger.

Lane-keeping technology is important for road safety because it can take just a matter of seconds for a moment’s inattentiveness to lead to a potentially catastrophic collision with an oncoming vehicle. Not many drivers are familiar with all the different types of lane-keeping systems, so this is a good opportunity to try out several of them in some of the latest car models so you can judge which you think works best.

There will also be a question and answer session with car safety experts from Thatcham, and we'll be interviewing you for What Car? magazine and our website about your thoughts on the systems and their effectiveness.

If you're interested, come along for an exclusive preview on Friday 15 October in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire.
