Ford Transit Custom: choosing the right bodystyle

You know your business better than anyone, so you know exactly what your vehicle needs to do to work for you. That’s where the All-New Ford Transit Custom range offers even more choice.

Ford Transit Custom panel van: If shifting plenty of packages or packing in more tools and material is the name of your game, then the Ford Transit Custom panel van is for you. Its all-new designed-from-the-ground-up platform maximises interior space unlike any Transit before, delivering a load volume from 5.8m3 up to 9.0m3[2], with a payload up to 1327kg[3] and a towing capacity up to 2800kg[4].

Up front, you get the choice of two or three seats. You can also specify whether you want a single side-sliding door or twin-side-sliding doors, as well as hinged rear doors or a single tailgate.

Finally, the All-New Ford Transit Custom panel van offers a wealth of clever features to help make your working day more efficient. Low roof (H1) models offer a sub-two-metre roof height, helping you fit more easily into multi-storey car parks, while a lower load floor and wide-opening doors make getting things in and out easier than ever. There’s also a smart walk-through cabin that adapts into a true mobile office space, as well as optional Delivery Assist automation to speed up drop-offs[5].

New MultiCab: If you need to carry more colleagues, but still want to pack in long items, then the innovative MultiCab with its L-shaped bulkhead is the one for you.  The MultiCab offers two additional seats in the second row, while still yielding a full-length load bay. The second row of seats is also removable, allowing you to use this space for secure storage, separately lockable to the load area.

Double-cab-in-van (DCiV): If you regularly need to carry crew alongside your tools and materials, the All-New Ford Transit Custom double-cab-in-van (DCiV) could be the pick for you. Like its panel van sibling, it offers the choice of two or three seats in the front but adds an additional second row of three seats behind. There’s also a fixed bulkhead separating the extended cab from the load bay for enhanced safety.

Ford Transit Custom: picking the right power

The All-New Ford Transit Custom has been designed around an extensive line-up of powertrain options.

First up, Ford’s next-generation Euro6-compliant EcoBlue diesels offer hard-working grunt, traditional convenience, and impressive fuel efficiency. You get the choice of a 110PS, 136PS or 150PS with a six-speed manual gearbox, or a 136PS or 170PS with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Diesel power also boosts your overall payload up to 1327kg[3] and a towing capacity up to 2800kg[4].

The All-New Ford Transit Custom offers a new 2.5L Duratec plug-in hybrid powertrain, which blends urban-friendly all-electric range with long-distance petrol and electric hybrid capability, convenience, and fuel efficiency.

Then, there’s the upcoming All-New, All-Electric Ford E-Transit Custom, which looks set to take all-electric vans to the next level.

Ford Transit Custom: Picking your trim

Once you’ve picked your All-New Ford Transit Custom’s body and drivetrain, it’s time to choose the trim that suits you and your business.

Leader: The entry-level Leader trim starts you off with a crisp digital instrument display and high-definition 13in touchscreen – your portal to Ford’s intelligent SYNC 4 infotainment system with its navigation, music and extensive connected Ford Pro features. Plus, this specification offers a whole suite of standard driver assistance features, including Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Aid and Speed Sign Recognition.

Trend: With the Trend model, you also get automatic air-conditioning as standard, alongside a locking glove box, useful under-seat stowage and a load-through bulkhead for those long awkward items. The Parking Pack, with front parking sensors and a rear-view camera, makes parking in tight spots even easier.

Limited: If you want a few more creature comforts on your All-New Ford Transit Custom, then the Limited trim is for you. As standard, the Limited trim provides heated front seats, keyless entry & start, front and rear LED lights, and auto power-folding heated and adjustable wing mirrors.

Trail: Trail trim is perfect for businesses that might need to go off the beaten track in their All-New Ford Transit Custom. This rugged trim adds intelligent all-wheel-drive for supreme grip and confidence on all surfaces (automatic versions only), striking yellow styling cues, optional 17in black alloy wheels, a unique rugged Trail front grille and skid plate, a mechanical limited-slip differential (manual versions only) and full-height load space trim.

Sport: The top-of-the-range Sport trim adds a dash of excitement to your All-New Ford Transit Custom, while still delivering all the toughness you’d expect. It includes a show-stopping Sport body kit with rear spoiler and head-turning design cues such as exterior racing strips, as well as 17in Sport alloy wheels, a heated driver’s seat with six-way power adjustment, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Ford Transit Custom: finding your perfect conversion

Finally, you really can have your All-New Ford Transit Custom designed exactly for your needs. Over half of all Ford Transits sold in Europe undergo some form of conversion to make them a uniquely perfect fit for the work they do, and Ford Pro is here to help make things simple – whether it’s construction and highway maintenance vehicles, removal vans, refrigerated vans or custom people carriers.

Ford Pro now also offers optional digital-first conversions with the new Upfit Integration System, removing the need for additional ancillary switches for things like lighting, beacons, and tail-lifts. Instead, these features can be controlled via the digital touchscreen.

So, from choosing the right body style and powertrain to specifying your ideal trim and even considering a conversion, that’s your guide to finding the perfect Ford Transit Custom for your business. All you’ve got to do is pick the right one for you.
