14 December 2022 – Feeling flat
As kids, we’re all told the story of the boy who cried wolf, but with my Alfa Romeo Giulia it’s more a case of the trye pressure sensors that cried flat.
You see, during my first couple of months with the car, barely a week would go by without me getting a warning that at least one – and sometimes as many as three – of the tyres needed air. I’d dutifully head to the nearest petrol station to top them up, only to find that they were at about the right level.
So, when I got a warning about the right rear a couple of week ago, I was all set to ignore it. Right up to point that I spotted a nail embedded in that tyre. Sure enough, this time I genuinely had a slow puncture, with the tyre already about 5PSI underinflated. But, strangely, after getting it replaced, the false warnings also stopped.
Or at least, they did until this week, when I got an alert that the right front needed topping up. The air pump at my nearest petrol station suggested otherwise, but I’m hoping this latest false alarm is just down to the cold weather.
