2018 Paris motor show – all the star cars
An all-electric Mercedes SUV, Peugeot's new estate and Skoda's future family hatchback – these are the star cars on display at the Paris motor show...
Kia Proceed
Acting as a halfway house between the regular Ceed hatchback and the Ceed Sportswagon estate. the new Proceed is aiming to offer a cheaper alternative to the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake. It's set to cost around £22,000 when sales begin next March, and our early drive in a prototype model has revealed that it could be a serious contender if you're looking for a spacious yet svelte family car.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class
Sales of compact MPVs may be shrinking, but these cars can still make a lot of sense for family buyers – especially those who don't like SUVs. Mercedes' rival to the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and Volkswagen Golf SV has grown in size and features the same MBUX infotainment system as the new A-Class family hatchback.
Mercedes-Benz GLE
Mercedes' plush SUV has recently been updated to include a new plug-in hybrid version that should be capable of travelling for up to 50 miles before needing to recharge. Inside, there's the new MBUX infotainment system and a whopping 825 litres of boot space – more even than is offered by the cavernous Audi Q7.
