2014 Jaguar XJ revealed
* Stop-start tech now standard * Revised rear suspension * 550 bhp XJR also now available...
Jaguar has released details of its 2014 XJ saloon.
The XJ has revised rear suspension on long wheelbase models, which has been retuned in order to make things more comfortable for rear-seat passengers. Stop-start technology is also included, which is now standard across the engine line-up.
Rear-seat headroom has also been increased; those sitting in the back will be able to choose from a bigger list of options, such as reclining airline-style seats with a memory function, five different massage settings, fold-out tables, and hi-resolution touch-screens.
A further option, Conversation Assist, uses microphones in the cabin and the existing stereo speakers to help passengers hear each other above cabin noise.
A flagship XJR model is also available. It gets a supercharged version of the 5.0 litre V8, producing 550bhp. That’s enough to get it to 62mph in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 174mph.
Prices for the standard XJ start at £56,865 for the 3.0-litre V6 diesel.
