Review

The Jaguar F-Type Convertible makes a great noise and the more expensive versions offer exhilarating pace, but its chief rivals are better sports cars

Trim: R

The range-topping R gets bigger alloys than the S as well as a host of bespoke styling upgrades, including four exhaust pipes and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. You’ll still want to add a few choice options, though, including heated seats, dual-zone climate control and front parking sensors.

Engine: 5.0 Supercharged V8

The V8 is the fastest and best-sounding model in the range, but it’s a pretty focused machine and is very pricey. This engine is available with a choice of rear- or four-wheel drive, and it comes with an automatic gearbox.
