Review
The Ford Focus Estate stands out as the best-handling family wagon, complemented by a decent ride, generous passenger space and a large boot possessed of some handy design features. Just bear in mind that the interior feels distinctly low rent and the seating isn't as versatile as some of its rivals'.

All the ST-Line features, plus bigger 18in wheels, power-folding door mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, privacy glass, automatic wipers, part-leather seats with six-way electric adjustment on the driver’s side, heated front seats, passenger height and lumbar adjustment, dual-zone climate control and an 8.0in infotainment screen with sat-nav. It’s a bit pricey but worth considering if you can stretch to it.
Engine: 1.5 EcoBoost 182
As impressive as Ford's 1.5-litre Ecoboost engine is, in this range-topping version form it barely feels any stronger than the cheaper 148bhp version, so that's the one we'd go for.
