Volkswagen delivers its first full electric vehicle

Volkswagen has delivered one of the greenest vehicles in its entire history, with the new e-up! a leading example of the innovation that is possible these days.

The four-seat vehicle is the German car manufacturer's first fully electric production vehicle and it certainly has set a new standard in this sector.

It is ideally suited for city driving, but, because it is one of the most advanced cars of its kind, can be easily enjoyed on long journeys too.

This is principally because its electric engine can be charged up to 80 per cent of its total capacity in 30 minutes. With this in mind, a slight break at a station is no hassle at all.

Operating with near enough no noise, the e-up! can travel as far as 150 kilometres before requiring a recharge, which can be achieved at DC and AC ports. Nothing has been missed with this model.

"It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h within 14 seconds and reaches a top speed of 135 km/h," Volkswagen stated. "The lithium-ion battery integrated in the underfloor area has a total energy storage capacity of 18.7 Kilowatt-hours."
