The Vauxhall Antara has just undergone a face lift and the pictures show off the new sharp looks of the firms SUV, which goes on sale in Dec 2010. Vauxhall has brought the Antara up to date by fitting the firms new Griffen logo and front grille, which was first seen on the Vauxhall Corsa facelift, while the SE model in the range gets front fog lights which are mounted in leaf shaped cut outs within the front bumper. Also fitted to the updated Antara are new 19” alloy wheels and redesigned rear light clusters complete the face lift modifications on the exterior, the interior features extra storage, improved instruments and new trim materials. The new Vauxhall Antara gets a new 2.2 litre diesel engine with a choice of either 161bhp or 181bhp which is a considerable increase from the current 148bhp 2.0 litre diesel engine. The engine power may have been increased but Vauxhall claims the new 2.2 diesel engine is cleaner than before, although no official emissions data has been released yet. The 161bhp version of the 2.0 litre engine comes in front wheel drive when fitted to a six speed manual gearbox or all wheel drive with a manual or six-speed gearbox or six speed auto gearboxes. The 181bhp Diesel engine comes in four wheel drive with a choice of either manual or automatic transmissions. The new Vauxhall Antara benefits from a new suspension system which features new revised spring and damper settings. Prices start from £19,995, which is a saving of £2,835 on the outgoing base version of the Vauxhall Antara. All Vauxhall Antara models are available to order through Lease Cars Direct.
